Use a Procedure List to Make Sure Routine Tasks Are Done Thoroughly

Just because a procedure is routine doesn't mean we carry around a list in our heads of every single step. For routine but infrequent tasks making a procedure list ensures a job is done efficiently and thoroughly.

Daryl Furuyama the designer at WhiteHatBlackBox behind some great forms we've previously featured such as the Refocus form for monthly goal tracking and DayGrid Balance for examining your work-life balance, has shared a new and equally as handy form.

The Procedure List is a simple, printable, numbered list. For any given routine procedure you can write the name of the procedure, the date/time you usually do it, and a list of the actionable items. There are 15 spaces to order the actionable items in the most effective way. If I were making a procedure list for cleaning a bathroom, for example, I'd make sure to put "Dust light fixtures/tops of window and door frames" as number one. Somehow I always end up thinking about dusting after I've cleaned everything else.

The form is free and available as a 300ppi PNG image. Also included in the post is an updated Refocus form with the week shifted to start on Mondays, for those of you who were fans of his form when we posted it, but wished it had a Monday start point.
